Description The school building strives to bring the institutional-self of an educational facility to equilibrium against the urban conditions of its context. It houses the negotiations done towards resolution of the polar influences, altering its own typology in the meanwhile. It attempts to explore the conflicts that demand resolution, for the typology to cater to the strains imposed by the conditions of the high density urban context. Confrontation of the program against the high density urban landscape consequences a vertical growth of the building envelope, delivering almost an unexpected spatial configuration. A spatial configuration that models itself, not as a particular reaction, but as a generic resolution. Playground situation at the roof top, a giant tree at the staircase hall-taking care of spatial connectivity to natural elements, all give rise to an opportunistic setting that capitalizes on its context rather than diverging. The design schema relies on the programmatic forces for its conclusion. Rather than being a factor itself, it incorporates the relevant assorted influences, creating a whole that suggests a margin for adaptation. The tactile materials, devoid of a cosmetic layer, interacting with the natural light, keeps the temper of interior spaces in a constant state of flux. The spaces interact with time in a way that feels relevant to the development of activities as the day progresses. The double material layer, preventing acoustic pollution and thermal gains at the fa├žade, transforms the purpose of material from that of an aesthetic one to that of a functional one as the building scale unveils itself.
